This page was created to help keep track of the process and details of what has happened so far. I will add the important steps and information as the project progresses.
What's Happened so Far
After initially finding the original article for this two box metal detector and proposing it to my professor I know that I can replace most of the original transmitter circuit with an Arduino. As well as being able to replace most of the signal receiver with modern amplification circuitry.

Soon I will be testing the theory of the metal detector in the electronics lab here at VTC. I plan to do this using one of the bench power supplies to supply a signal and an oscilloscope to pick it up as well as some wire as antenna. I will be testing to see what orientation will give the best range.
